I’ve been on a number of dating sites and have tried several normal and odd ones. Then I came across a new dating site called Atheist Personals and tried to keep an open mind about it. I’m glad I did because I found a few pleasant surprises while checking it out.
The first thing you will notice is the site is much like any other. You can create a profile, browse other users, and send out emails with a paid membership. One may think that Atheist Personals would be filled with pagans and people into Satanism. What you will find is a lot of like-minded singles looking to simply find that special someone.

AtheistPersonals.com targets like-minded atheists form diverse backgrounds. I found a wide range of ages on the site, but also found the most active users tend to be between the ages of 18-35. Though the site targets atheist in general, it should also be noted that the site is also for the curious. Everyone on the site is not an atheist, and I imagine this was by design or by pure coincidence.
Like most dating sites, Atheist Personals also targets all single men and women regardless of their religious beliefs. Their “Fresh New Profiles” illustrates this point as the section shows atheist and believers alike.
Another thing I noticed was the site was not targeting any sort of Satanism or Neo-Paganism singles. As mentioned above, the site seems to be open to all religions and is aimed at bringing singles of all types together.

It was difficult to find any information on who founded the site. I searched and searched, and was only able to find a company name towards the bottom of the main page. It may be a good idea to have the founder of the site a bit more visible on the main page.

Unlike other Atheist-focused sites, Atheist Personals almost always has activity going on, as in, a lot of members are usually online for you to chat with. Frankly, I didn’t expect an atheist dating site to be buzzing with activity but after every log-in, I am met with notifications left and right. You never feel like you’re alone. It even has a ‘Rapid Match’ section in the Home Page where you get to do a Tinder-like ‘Liking’ and ‘Passing’. To make the long story short, there is no shortage of members to check out and flirt with.
And speaking of flirting, the site allows for a more creative flirting. You don’t just send an interest, you also get to customize the flirt message you send.
You will need an upgraded membership to send and receive emails. Free and upgraded members can use the search feature, which is really useful. I was able to pull up users in my area and start sending messages out after upgrading.
Like most dating sites, I found it difficult to actually get conversations going even with other upgraded members. After much persistence I was able to strike up a few conversations that have not resulted in any dates as of yet. But that is not a problem as I’m having a great time using Rapid Match, browsing profiles, looking at photos and sending flirts.
The “Help” section on the site is useful, and I found it easy to navigate through the many help topics ranging from uploading photos, to changing your billing information.

With an estimated 16% of the world population identifying as being an atheist, Atheist Personals is the most popular site of its kind. Atheist and open-minded singles will find that the site is like most others regarding its design. There is a lot to recommend here, beginning with the active members. Another plus for me is the ease in creating and browsing profiles. The site has no overwhelming desire to put extraneous details on profiles, but instead allows the users to be as detailed or as sparse as they choose to be. I love having this much freedom to do what I want with my dating profile and because of that, I couldn’t recommend Atheist Personals more.
